What is happening in the name of........

Teaching a subject after accepting money from the students is called tuition, if the subject is a part of the curriculum. Whatever the alias we use, it will remain as a tuition class. Java and C++ are there in the syllabus of IT, MCA and CS courses (see the topics of the subject CS/IT2k 507P). In the new sillabus, it is there in third semester.Conducting tuition classes inside the campus is not appreciable and it is illegal. It is a sort of financial exploitation.

In your college, Dept of CSE anounced classes on various subjects in the name of   'xxx'. If it's for the wellbeing of the students, the fee should be nominal, Rs50/- or a maximum of  Rs 100/- . This is what commented by Prof:Roy Choudhary, who was a member of NBA team.

Moreover, there exist some questions.

1)     Who has given permission to conduct official tuition classes?

2)     How do you fix the fee? Is there any regulatory committee?

3)     Students have already paid a huge amount as tuition fee. After that, collecting an amount for teaching a subject is financial exploitation. How do you justify this exploitation?

4)     Are these faculties willing to teach these subjects to help the students for their regular labs and classes to avoid money factor?

The department should conduct courses on subjects that are not included in the curriculum. A   nominal fee should be collected from the students, and at the same time it should never become financial burden. These courses will help the students to learn and improve their knowledge on new areas of current technologies.

This is a matter of great consern, and a fact to be looked seriously upon.. Taking money in name of providing tutuion classes for those subjects that are, part of course curriculum is , in no way legal, and appropriate. But, last year , also , students had put the above mentioned subject to the college head, but as we all know that our xxx is always keen to find out inappropriate faults, and try to tend , not to understand, what's the need of the moment and most preciesely whats right.
The last matter to concern on, is that , what are the oppinions of those teachers , who have been , given the incharge to take the respective classes. Do they, too also believe that such a tution center senario is required in such a context, when what is to be taught belongs to the course curriculum.

Anyways, what can be done..
lies in hands of those who can think and understand what is ..happening..in the name of....

What about the quality of your lab sessions and experiments. Do you believe that the present situation will help you to equip to confront the tech challenges of coming decades? This is not the way to the solution. What did the NBA team suggest?
I have already suggested what to do and what should not happen.
Thanks for opening a discussion.

"What is good", is a right question. Believe, there is a world out side your campus, look into it, watch what is happening there. Please do not try to watch a train by sitting inside it. Try to come out of your class room, come out of your text books, come out of your syllabus.Your college is a small narrow world.

More over, "What is good" depends on your knowledge and vision. Although, you people are ready to give money, they people are ready to take the money. Think about those who can't pay this much money for basic needs.
We have been speaking against a lot of activities happened in campus.Eg- Invited quotation to config and design website lbscek.ac.in. You have degraded the network of the organization on hearing the salesman that his s/w works on only one NIC. How can you say a s/w written in java will not be affected by viruses? Haven't you paid 40000 for this s/w? We should question blunders and foolishness, otherwise this campus will become a point in universe where you can realize the meaninglessness of acadamic qualifications!!!

if the authority is permitting to take tution, then ofcourse it is useful for the students.also the teacher can improve in certain extent but any way the fee should be nominal.

I agree with you, but, one of the basic principles of management is 'authority with responsibility'. Authority should have responsibility and vision on spending even a single rupee or a second.
First of all, I emphasized on nominal fee.
Nearly 99% of the students does not know why did they joined for the course, and the skill set need to survive in the coming decodes.

I could see 8th semester CSE students confused with a message box having 'ok', 'cancel' buttons, in this campus!
